Course information

Title: Associate of Theology (60 credits)

Focus: a general introduction to biblical theology and ministry.

Description: The Associate’s program in theology offers a means to acquire solid and accessible theological education. The students who complete this program receive a general introduction to biblical theology and the various disciplines of practical ministry. We invite every student who senses a call to the ministry to continue his or her education to at least at a Bachelor’s level.

Abundant Life AL-140

Description: In this course the student will explore what the Bible says about the benefits as well as the responsibilities to living a life of obedience to Christ.

(Each Course of Study represents 2 Credit Hours)

Bible Overview BO-140

Description: This course gives an excellent grounding in an overall knowledge and understanding of all the books of the Bible and how they fit together to give us the broad picture of God’s plan for mankind.

The Life of Christ I LC-141

Description: This course is a study on the life of Christ during His childhood years based on Matthew’s Gospel.

The Life of Christ II LC-142

Description: The intent of this study is to analyze the first year of ministry of Jesus, to understand the context of his teachings as well as His techniques.

The Life of Christ III LC-143

Description: Analyses the second year of the ministry of Jesus and describes Galilee and the expansion of the kingdom of that province. Also shows student how to compare related episodes in various Gospels and how to confront apparent contradictions in them.

The Life of Christ IV LC-144

Description: Analyses the third year of the ministry of Jesus (Year of Passion). Deals with the doctrine of man, sin, death, correct and false concepts about the human body and the spirit. Also shows the basic principals of pastoral psychology.

The Life of Christ V LC-145

Description: This course focuses on the events and teachings of the last week of Jesus’ life. Introduces the use of the evaluation technique and finishes with a comparative analysis of the life of Christ in the four Gospels.

The Life of Christ VI LC-146

Description: This course focuses on the last chapter of the Gospel of Matthew as well as the Acts of the Apostles. It deals with Christ’s Resurrection and it’s proofs, the Ascension, the Great Commission and how this was put into practice by the early church.

Practical Ministry Experience I PR-441

Description: Students are required to be involved in at least 6 hours of practical ministry experience every week. Ministry experience will include participation as well as leadership roles in evangelistic outreaches, local church services, discipleship groups, and prayer meetings. In addition to the weekly hours of practical ministry experience, students are to spend roughly 10 weeks of missionary work in national or international locations in the course of one year of studies.

Mission and Mercy MM-440

Description: This course helps the student to correctly understand the Gospel and the importance of proclamation by word and deed. The student will learn how to organize and carry out mercy projects as part of their evangelistic effort.
